Having been delayed by a prior meeting; I reached NSIT around 6:50.

Dr.MPS Bhatia was there at the entrance- and it was great to meet Bhatia-sir again as one entered the Alumni meet.

The venue of alumni-meet was a open lawn-- and the seating arrangements were that the chairs were all arranged to face the stage-- instead of having tables for each batch.

At the time, Dr.Raj Senani was on the podium-- talking about a NSITian who had over 12 research papers published in major research journals and sharing with us the extent of that achievement.

This was followed by a call to alumni, asking them to come onstage, and talk about their experiences; share their feelings about being back to college for the alumni meet.

Mr.Jagteshwar Singh- from the first ever batch from NSIT (then: DIT) and who is a scientist in SCL Chandigarh came onstage and shared his feelings and experiences.

Mr.Pranav Bhasin (COE-96-2000)- a entrepreneur- who was among the first NSITians to be hired in Trilogy was next- Pranav shared his experiences and thoughts and a few inspiring visions. Pranav incidentally is based out of Bangalore.

I too had a chance to come onstage- share some thoughts about what I've been up to since coming out of college and the value and importance of our alumni network.

This round of alumni speeches was to be followed by a stand-up comedy performed by current students- which was rudely interrupted by a spate of un-seasonal rainfall and everyone's run to find shelter as a safe haven. We ran here and there and when we did finally find shelter.

It wasnt so bad-- nice opportunity for some impromptu info exchange and networking- as forms seeking our contact info for Club Mahindra holidays were distributed... to those that had managed shelter.

However, we were asked to head back through the rain-- to the ICE block. We sloshed our way through the wetness and crammed into the ICE block-- and stood around for maybe 15-20 minutes- as the large kitchen utensils and tables were squeezed past us.
SInce this was simultaneous with Moksha; Event Participants from other colleges too were squeezed along with us-- and added a dash of colour with even participants for the fashion parade pushing us for space and with sundry odd-job-men from the caterer continuing to squeeze past us with utensils and food warming equipment.

At this point, as we waited for food; Manika, Ankur Sahni, Me and one more person had the urge to go find Dr.MPS Bhatia have a chat with him. So we backtracked-- back from ICE-block to the admin building where Bhatia-sir's office is.

We searched here and there- including in the auditorium but with no luck-- finally, we decided to return to the ICE block where dinner was to be served.

As we were walking out of the wind-tunnel- we heard loud shouts and people running helter skelter everywhere- there had been a fight in the festival!!! The police too was around-- and I just decided to rush away to the dinner-venue- afraid that maybe the cops would ask everyone they saw to just go away and seal the venue- and I would miss the dinner.

Got back to the venue-- enjoyed the dinner-- very well catered-- lots of tasty food-- though ofcourse the crowd was heavy and lot of pushing-- and the crowd was peppered with sundry extra faces- including fest participants, local urchins and the odd jobs staff.

All in all it was a fun event-- next time we need to all pray that the rain Gods be nicer.

But yeah; dunno about others, but I enjoyed the whole event-- and would unblinkingly walk in even if I knew the same was going to happen all over again.

All comments, criticisms, feedback welcome...

Best Regards,

Nalin Savara
COE-95-99
