1. What embarked your interest towards career in research? Dream job since I had my senses around me 2. What is it like working in that field (your area of research) and what are the future prospects in this direction? Exciting, challenging. The profession of teaching and research never goes out of fashion. 3. How has been/was your experience at graduate school? Very nice - honed my skills, and enriched my knowledge. Got me forward towards my goal 4. Factors(s) you consider that influenced your admission into graduate school and how supportive had N.S.I.T. been in helping you achieve your target. Mentioned above - dream job: teaching and research. The earlier one-exam-a-Semester system was nice, with the freedom to learn at one's own pace, at a pace that one was comfortable with. Learning without the fear of too many examinations. I liked DIT for that. 5. What are the emerging fields of research that students should explore? The sky is the limit. 6. Please describe a typical day at work and what do you do when you are not at work? It is a way of life - since the schedule is not too different. The academic freedom and otherwise in a teaching and research job at IIT Delhi means complete flexibility in office hours, complete freedom in working in any area I want, nice campus, no boss to command over me - all of it give rise to a nice wholesome environment.
